Catalino 'Cat' A. Mateo, Sr. GENEVA- Catalino 'Cat' A. Mateo, Sr., 68, passed away on Thurs. (Oct. 18, 2012), at Clifton Springs Hospital. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Mon. (Oct. 22), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC 28 Genesee St. Geneva. The Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. following calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tues. (Oct. 23), at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Geneva. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Cat was born on March 26, 1944 in Coamo, Puerto Rico, and was a son of the late Ignacio and Justina (Rolon) Mateo. He worked as a heavy equipment operator employed by the Seneca Army Depot, and retired after many years. Cat loved his family and his family of friends very much. They meant everything to him. His passions included his culture, baseball (especially the Yankees), horse training and fishing. He is survived by his son, Catalino A. (Tara) Mateo, Jr. of Rochester; daughter, Carmen R. Mateo of Willard, NY; brothers, Tomas Mateo of Geneva, Rafael (Alice) Mateo of Newark, Ignacio (Yvonne) Mateo of Waterloo, Frank (Karen) Mateo of Newark and John Mateo of Canandaigua; sisters, Gloria (Miguel) Chavez of Waterloo and Olga Mateo of Geneva; grandchildren, Robert J. Mateo, Dwayne D. Falbru, Jr., Taylor Christine and Ileiahna Mateo; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Cat was predeceased by his wife, Carmen A. Mateo; sister, Anna Valentin; brothers, Raymond and Jose Mateo. .
