Joseph M. Cannuli, Jr.

GENEVA - Joseph M. Cannuli, Jr., 80, passed away Mon. (Jan. 3, 2011) at Strong Memorial Hospital. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thurs. (Jan. 6) at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home, LLC, 28 Genesee St., Geneva. A funeral service will be held immediately following calling hours at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Fri. (Jan. 7) at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Geneva, with military honors provided by the United States Marine Corps.

Joseph was born Nov. 5, 1930, in Geneva and was a son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Cataffi) Cannuli, Sr. He was a 1948 graduate of DeSales High School. Joseph served his country in the Korean War as a member of the 1st and 2nd Marine Air Wing. He worked as a supervisor cook, employed by the VA Medical Center in Canandaigua for almost 30 years. Joseph enjoyed hunting rabbits with his best friend, Carmen Liberatore.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Dorothy (Bruzee) Cannuli of Geneva; daughters, JoAnne (William) Patterson of Waterloo and Susan (John) Vincent of Romulus; brother, Anthony Cannuli of Geneva; sister, Nancy Cataffi of Clifton Springs; grandchildren, Steven and Brian Patterson, Jennifer (Patrick) Mahoney and Jackie and Jessica Vincent.

Joseph was predeceased by a daughter, Amy Jo; sisters, Mary Cannuli and Mamie Antenucci and brothers, Charley, Thomas, Eugene and Sammy Cannuli.
