Jerry A. Brown, Sr.


ROCHESTER - Jerry A. Brown, Sr., 93, passed away peacefully Sat. (Jan. 8, 2011) at the Isaiah House. Friends may call from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Sat. (Jan. 15) at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home, LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. following Calling hours at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Jerry was born on Nov. 7, 1917 in Lumpkin, GA., and was a son of the late Ambrose and Susie (Knighton) Brown. He was employed by Hobart and William Smith Colleges as a custodian. Jerry was a member of St. Francis De Sales Roman Catholic Church, in Geneva.


He is survived by his son, Jerry Brown, Jr.; daughters, Hilda (G. Michael) Peterson, Yolanda Brown, Elana Stafford, Vonda ((Roger) Jones and Jennifer Brown; brothers, Solmon (Totsey) Brown; sisters, Louise Crawford, Ophelia Foster, Viola Hudson, Geraldine Buck and Susie Mae Brown; grandchildren, Desmond, Derrick, Randy, LaToya, Lewis Darnell, Maurice, Alecia (Anthony), Lamont, Julius, Jalen, Alexis and Gabrielle; great-grandchildren, Lewis, Jr., Sidney, Anthony, Jr., Keneedra, Kenizha, Keoni, Kayla, Mariano, Knijear, Nathaniel, Asia and India; sisters-in-law, Nancy Brown and Marion Shields.


Jerry was predeceased by his wife Mary; son, Morris; brothers, Walter and Milburn Brown, Larvargie and Harry Lee and sister, Sally Bussey.
