Roxanne Logue Hennessy GENEVA - Roxanne Logue Hennessy, 61, passed away peacefully Sat. (Feb. 12, 2011) at Geneva General Hospital. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sun. (Feb. 20) at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home, LLC, 28 Genesee St., Geneva. A memorial service will follow calling hours at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Contributions may be directed to the Beverly Animal Shelter, 50 E. River St. Waterloo, NY 13165, or Interlakes Oncology and Hematology, 675 W. Washington St. Geneva, NY 14456. Roxanne was born Sept. 7, 1949, in Geneva, NY, and was a daughter of the late James and Sarah (Parker) Logue. She resided on Packwood Road most of her life. She was a graduate of Geneva High School, Geneva School of Practical Nursing, and Hudson Valley Community College. During her years at Geneva High, Roxanne was an accomplished track star, setting the Geneva High record for the 75-yard dash as a freshman. She participated in the National A.A.U. Junior Olympics meet where she was a finalist in the 100 and 220 yard dashes. Roxanne was rated among the top six sprinters of her age in the country and was voted "Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year" by the Niagara A.A.U. District. Roxanne was an inaugural inductee into the Geneva Sports Hall of Fame in 1990. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for Geneva General Hospital and numerous area physicians. Her most recent places of employment were with Hobart and William Smith Colleges and the Geneva Public Schools. Roxanne was also a dedicated American Red Cross volunteer. She loved her gardens and her pets. Roxanne will be dearly missed. She is survived by her children, Matthew Hennessy of Chicago, IL and John (Erin) Hennessy of Boston, MA; siblings, Randy (Peggy) Logue of Auburn, Russell Logue of Geneva, Kay (Ron) Rizzo of Weedsport, Becky (Dave) Achilles of Geneva, Rochelle Logue of Geneva and Renee Iannapollo of Phoenix, AZ. Roxanne was predeceased by her brother, Rodney Logue.
