James Victor French

GENEVA - James Victor French, 33, passed away Fri. (March 18, 2011) at Strong Memorial Hospital. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sun. (March 20) at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home, LLC 28 Genesee St. Geneva. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Contributions may be directed to a charity close to Jim's heart, the American Cancer Society, 1400 Winton Rd.- North, Rochester, NY 14609.

Jim was born July 31, 1977, in Waterloo, and was the son of Kevin Victor French and the late Nancy Lee (Dutcher) French. He enjoyed the simple things in life and found happiness in the company of friends, entertaining them at his home, impressing them with his grilling skills, and helping them build "something", or cut "things" down. Other passions include camping, fishing, listening to music, learning to play the guitar and rooting for and defending the New England Patriots. A new chapter of happiness began when he entered into marriage with his best friend Melissa on June 6, 2009. Jim's proudest achievement was his beautiful daughter Kayla. She brought him tremendous joy everyday.

He is survived by his loving wife, Melissa Anne (Rapini) French of Geneva; daughter, Kayla Marie French of Malone; father, Kevin French of Waterloo; sister, Casey (Mike) Kapp of Waterloo; nieces, Morgan and Mackenzie Kapp of Waterloo; paternal grandparents, Victor (Joyce) French of Waterloo; maternal grandfather, Romaine Dutcher of Waterloo; father- in-law and mother-in-law, Michael (Anne) Rapini of Geneva; brother-in-law, Eric Rapini of Rochester; grandparents-in-law, Peter (Vinnie) Carnovale of Geneva; several aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.

Jim was predeceased by his mother, Nancy Lee (Dutcher) French; step-mother, Jean (Qualtieri) French and maternal grandmother, Maude Dutcher.
