Harry was born May 30, 1916, in Oswego, TN, and was a son of the late John Hogan and Harriett Evelyn (Broughton) Queener. Harry spent his youth in Jellico, Tennessee, growing up in the shadow of Queener Mountain. He attended Tennessee Polytechnical Institute where he learned the printing trade. Ultimately, he ran his own print shop in his home town for a number of years. He served in World War II in the Pacific Theater as a United States Navy Sea Bee. After the war, he returned home and married Fay Baker. He would share his life with her for the next 64 years. Together they loved their Geneva home on North Main Street, where they lived, laughed and debated with others for over 45 years. Harry was always interested in current affairs, politics and was a proud, staunch democrat. Guests were always welcome to stop by for coffee and conversation in the home's cozy kitchen. He was an avid antique collector. He often handed out rare coins to friends and acquaintances. He also was an artist and loved to learn. Harry was a member of; The First United Methodist Church of Geneva, The Geneva Coin Club and the International Typographical Union. He served proudly in the union and retired from the Democrat and Chronicle. He had great compassion for his fellow man, but he took the most pride in his family. Harry was a devoted husband and a proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His family has been honored to know him and proud to have been a part of his extraordinary life. His 94 years of experience have filled us all with a lifetime of memories and love. He will be dearly missed but always remembered. He is survived by his loving wife, N.
