David Barry Guilfoose PENN YAN - David Barry Guilfoose, 75, passed away after a short illness on Tues. (April 19, 2011) with his children by his side. In honoring his wishes, there will be no prior calling hours or services. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Contributions in David's name may be directed to the Finger Lakes Museum Fund, 309 Lake St. Penn Yan, NY 14527. David was born Feb. 9, 1936, in Geneva and was born the youngest of three children to the late Murry and Lena (Johnston) Guilfoose. He was a Geneva High School graduate. After highschool, he went on to serve his country in the United States Army, in the Korean War. In 1964 he married Shirley Ann Rennyson and had four children. David was employed by the NYS Experiment Station and retired after several years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. David was also a lover of the Native American Heritage. He will be dearly missed by all, 'mercy taters.' 'What is this life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night. Crowfoot- Blackfoot Chief He is survived by his children, Gregory Guilfoose of Lyons, Brett (Edith) Guilfoose of Paris, TN, David M. (Sophi) Guilfoose of Oregon, WI and Wendy Morley of Oregon, WI; sister, Joanne Fegley of Canandaigua; former wife, Shirley (Rennyson) Guilfoose; grandchildren, Taggart, Chase and Baird Morley, Blake and Arabella and Baby G Guilfoose, Emily and Tiffany Bennett and several nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by his brother, John 'Jack' Guilfoose.
