Lawrence Elder GENEVA - Lawrence Elder, 88, passed away Thurs. (July 7, 2011) at Geneva General Hospital. There will be no prior calling hours. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tues. (July 12) at Glenwood Cemetery, with military honors. Contributions may be directed to the Multiple Sclerosis Resources of Central New York, Inc., P.O. Box 237 East Syracuse, NY 13057. Lawrence was born April 18, 1923, in Boston, MA, and was a son of the late David and Elizabeth (Roath) Elder. He served his country during WWII as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force. While in service he was awarded the WWII Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Theatre Ribbon, ETO, Combat Infantry Badge, and the National Defense Service Medal. Lawrence was a member of the American Legion Winnek Post 396. He was a very loving father and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Elder of Geneva and many nieces, nephews, grea-nieces and great-nephews. Lawrence was predeceased by his wife, Concetta 'Connie' (Cocola) Elder; son, Alan Elder; brothers, James, William, David, and Robert Elder; sisters, Mildred Elder Hendrigan and Helen Elder Hurley; nephew, Allen Hendrigan and niece, Anne Hendrigan Rodriguez.
