Janetto 'Butch' Venterea GENEVA - Janetto 'Butch' Venterea, 90, passed away Sat. (July 9, 2011) at the Geneva Living Center - North. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wed. (July 13) at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home, LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva, NY 14456. Military honors will be held at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin with prayers at the funeral home at 9 a.m. Thurs. (July 14), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Francis De Sales Roman Catholic Church in Geneva. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Mausoleum. Janetto was born August 26, 1920, in Lucerne Mines, PA, and was a son of the late Anthony and Ascenza (D'Amico) Venterea. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII, from 1942 to 1946. Janetto worked as a Master Carpenter for the Carpenter's Union in Rochester, NY. In addition to being an excellent carpenter, he was also known to be very kind and generous. Janetto was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and the Joiners of Horseheads, NY, the American Legion Post 396, the Border City Fire Dept. and St. Francis De Sales Roman Catholic Church. He is survived by his brother, Tom Venterea of Leominster, PA; sisters, Nina Palmer of Geneva and Grace Destefano of Syracuse, and several nieces and nephews. Janetto was predeceased by his brother, Orlando Venterea; sisters, Matilda Missilli, Josephine Balistreri, Elsie Albright and Ruth Kayn.
