Lister Scipio GENEVA - Lister Scipio, 73, passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Thurs. (July 28, 2011), at home. Friends may call 9 to11a.m. Fri. (Aug. 5), at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 70 Clark Street, followed by a service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Lister was born Oct. 20, 1937, in Darlington, SC, and was the son of the late Sam and Eva Mae (Shame) Scipio. He is also predeceased by 4 brothers; Theron, Julius Lee, Joe Nathan and James E. Scipio. Lister retired from Seneca Lake State Park after many years. He was ordained Deacon ten years ago, is a member, and served as Deacon at Mount Olive Church. He will be sadly missed by the community. He is survived by his loving wife, Pearlie Mae (Hannah) Scipio of Geneva; son, Darrell Scipio of SC, stepsons; Thomas Hannah, Timothy Hannah, Joseph McClam, and Thomas Myers all of Geneva, stepdaughters; Gail Butler and Gloria Jean Sawyer both of NC. sisters; Dessie Curtis, Jannie Ruth Eschols, Sarah (Eddie) Wilson and Mary A. Redden, brothers; John M. Scipio of SC and Sam Scipio of Queens, NY; 2 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; godsons; Clayton Reed and Wayne Small and a host of nieces and nephews.
