John Drooby GENEVA - John Drooby, 91, passed away peacefully on Wed. (Sept. 21, 2011) at Geneva General Hospital, with his loving family by his side. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Fri. (Sept. 23), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home, LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva. Trisagion prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Sat. (Sept. 24) at St. Michael's Antiochian Orthodox Christian Orthodox Church, 98 Genesee St. Geneva, with the Rev. Fr. Gregory Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. John was born on July 8, 1920, in Geneva, and was a son of the late George M. and Eva Drooby. He was known to be a very hard worker. John was employed by Hulse Manufacturing for 20 years, Iverson Construction and farmed cash crops. In 1970 he started Drooby Septic Tank Service and sold the business to his son George in 1994. He took pride in his garden and shared his vegetables with everyone around town. John was a member of St. Michael's Antiochian Orthodox Church in Geneva. He is survived by his sons, George (Kathy) Drooby of Geneva and David Drooby of Geneva; sister, Bertha Aed of Washington D.C.; grandchildren, Lori, Brenda, Tony, Billy, Shawna, Leeanne, Matthew, Lindsey and Aaron; great-grandchildren, Amanda, Mike, John, Chris, Shelby and Billy; great, great grandchild, Atreyu; daughter-in-law, Kelly Drooby of Shortsville; nieces, Jewel, Louise and Carol; nephews, Abe, Mark, Bob, George and Michael and special great, great twin nieces, Molly and Claire. John was predeceased by his beloved wife, Elizabeth P. (Wheeler) Drooby; son, Richard L. 'Ramp' Drooby ; daughter, Marjorie Jensen; brothers Moses and Leo; sisters, Sophie, Annie and Mary and son-in-law, Arnie Jensen.
