Vito W. Bonventre Loving Father and Papa GENEVA - Vito W. Bonventre, 80, passed away peacefully on Wed. (Oct. 12, 2011), at the Geneva Living Center-North, with his loving family by his side. In honoring Vito's wishes, there will be no prior calling hours. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Mon. (Oct. 17) at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, with full military honors. Contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society, 1120 South Goodman St. Rochester, NY 14620, or the charity of one's choice. Vito was born on June 4, 1931, in Geneva and was the son of the late Mariano and Julia (Gillotte) Bonventre. He served his country in the United States Air Force, in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. Vito worked construction as a laborer for the Laborer's Union Local 435 in Rochester. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening and yard work, and was a Notre Dame Football fan. Vito was a member of the Geneva American Legion and St. Francis DeSales Roman Catholic Church. He cherished the time spent with his family, and his grandchildren meant everything to him. He is survived by his son, Michael (Staci) Bonventre of Geneva; daughter, Lisa (Mark) Rager of Geneva; sisters, Joanne Mahoney of Geneva and Mary DeSarro of Webster; son-in-law, Steve DeBolt of Geneva; grandchildren, Chelsea and Jordan DeBolt, Isabella and Mariana Bonventre and many nieces and nephews. Vito was predeceased by his beloved wife of 52 years, Josephine 'Josie' L. (Augustine) Bonventre; daughter, Ann (Bonventre) DeBolt and twin infant granddaughters, Jahna and Nicholle.
