Anita Naomi Davis GENEVA- Anita Naomi Davis, 90, of Geneva passed away Monday, October 17th, 2011 at Clifton Springs Hospital. Anita, known as Nan, was born April 12, 1921 in Carleton Place, Ontario, Canada. Daughter of the late Caroline Bennett Cole and John Benson Cole, she spent her early life in Almonte, Ontario and Ottawa, Ontario. She later settled in the Finger Lakes area with her husband Alexander Cochran Davis who survives her. She is also survived by daughters Kristin Leigh David of Scarsdale, NY, Diana Valerie Davis and son-in-law Edward John Michaels of Geneva; grandchildren, Zachary Davis Michaels of Geneva, Zachary Bancroft David and Trevor Justin David of Los Angeles, CA, Ariana Sabrina O'Malley and husband David Everett O'Malley of Darien, CT; great grandchildren, Scarlett Grayson O'Malley and William John O'Malley of Darien, CT; brother, Berkley Bennett Cole and his wife Amy Cole of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Nan, an enthusiastic bridge player and master of completing the Sunday New York Times crossword puzzle, enjoyed golfing as well. She formerly worked at Carpenter He Prints as a secretary/bookkeeper. Nan volunteered for many years as the secretary and a board member of the Geneva Concerts Association. She was also a member of the Ceres Circle, a group of women who either worked at the NYS Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva or were married to an employee. Her volunteer efforts included teaching Sunday school at North Presbyterian Church and serving as Girl Scout troop co-leader. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers, Carlyle Benson Cole and John Dean Cole. There will be a funeral service for Nan's immediate family. There will be no prior calling hours. If desired, contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
