Obituary of Alfred J. Guerriri

Alfred J. Guerriri GENEVA/FLORIDA - Alfred J. Guerriri, 79, passed away quietly on Sat. (March 3, 2012), surrounded by his family. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Al's life from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sat. (March 24, 2012), at the Sons of Italy on Prospect Ave. in Geneva. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society 1120 South Goodman St. Rochester, NY 14620. Al was born on Sept. 1, 1932, in Geneva and was the son of the late Alfred and Lucy (DeYulio) Guerriri. He worked at Montgomery Ward as a service manager, the Seneca Army Depot as a refrigeration and air conditioning technician and taught at BOCES for two years. Being an avid golfer, he was a member of the Big Oak Golf Course in Geneva, and will be sadly missed by his special golf "buddies" at Big Oak. Al was also a member of the Penn Yan Flying Club and the Elks Club. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Ida (DeRosa) Guerriri; daughters, Mary Jo (Dennis Matthews) Cook, Lucille (Scott) Bissell, Linda (Chuck) Lee, Cynthia (Nick) Gonzalez and Pam (Dana) Ruggles; son, Stephen Guerriri; brothers, Robert (Diane) Guerriri and Donald (Julie) Guerriri; sister, Joyce (Bob) Smith; "special" daughters-in-law, Sally (Allie) Guerriri, Shawna (Thomas) Salato and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Al was predeceased by his sons, Alfred 'Allie' Guerriri in June 2011 and Thomas Salato in Dec. 2011.
