Philip A. Povero GENEVA- Philip A. Povero, 88, passed away peacefully, with his loving family by his side on Tues. (June 5, 2012), at the Geneva Living Center South. In honoring his wishes, there will be no prior calling hours. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Sat. (June 9), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC 28 Genesee St. Geneva, with the Rev. Thomas P. Mull officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. Contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society 1120 Goodman St.- South Rochester, NY 14520, or the American Diabetes Association 160 Allens Creek Rd. Rochester, NY 14618. Philip was born on April 11, 1924, in Phelps, NY and was the son of the late Alfred and Teresa Pardi Povero. He attended Geneva High School and was a member of the graduating class of 1941. Philip owned and operated Povero Construction and was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 1163 and the Millwrights and Pile Drivers Union, both of Rochester. He enjoyed working in his garden, but most of all cherished the time he spent with his family. Philip was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, father-in-law and friend. He is survived by his daughter, Cathleen J. (Frank) Yunits of Geneva; sons, Philip C. (Cynthia) Povero of Canandaigua, David A. (Terry Lee) Povero of Saratoga Springs, James E. (Sandy Yahner) Povero of Virgil, and Edward J. (Olita) Povero of Victor; sisters, Sister Rita Boromeo of Rochester, Adelaide (Nick) Truillo of Binghamton, Anna (Mike) Liberatore of Upland, Calif, and Sister Alice Illaria of NYC; grandchildren, Frank, Jr. (Carleen), Michael, and Jennifer Yunits, Jaclyn (Brett) Lapides, Anthony and Katherine Povero, Eric and Emilia Povero; great-grandchildren, Frank III, Christopher, Catelynn, and Lucas Yunits, Paige Lapides; brother-in-law, Richard Bement and sister-in-law, Marion Bement, both of Glens Falls; and several nieces and nephews. Philip was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy E. Bement Povero, in 2010 and sisters, Mary and Elizabeth.
