Robert Donald Ragin GENEVA- Robert Donald Ragin born October 6, 1961 in Pittsburgh PA to his parents Ronald Ragin and Roberta (Reed) Ragin.. On June 3, 2012 Robert was called home by our Heavenly Father. A funeral Service will be held on Mon. (June 11, 2012) at 11 a.m., at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 70 Clark Street, Geneva, NY, 14456. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. A reception will be held after the burial at Geneva Courtyard Apartments, 10 Goodman Street, Geneva, NY, 14456. Instead of flowers the family would like for all donations to Veterans of the Iraq War. Robert graduated from High School in Pittsburgh and shortly after joined the Army. Robert completed four years full time active duty and continued 16 years in the Army Reserve. Like so many others he sacrificed for his family, friends, and country. While in active duty Robert was deployed to Desert Storm, and while in the Army Reserve was deployed to Afghanistan and completed two tours. Robert was employed by Zoto's International for the past 15years. In his spare time Robert enjoyed reading, weight lifting, watching sports, and playing golf. Robert found his sole mate Chrystal 20 years ago and on July 14, 2007 they became husband and wife. Their life together was filled with love, laughter, friends, and family. Robert was loved by so many and enjoyed meeting new people. Robert's memory will be cherished by his wife Chrystal Ragin; one daughter Laneka Scott of Pittsburgh; two step sons Terrance Cure and Maurice Brown of Geneva; his father Ronald Ragin; four brothers Ronald Ragin, Jr. Richard Ragin, David Bush and Charles Staten Jr.; two sister Renetta Ragin and Pamela Stanley, one granddaughter Nekyah Thornton all of Pittsburgh; six uncles Herbert Ragin Jr. of Maryland, Rufus Ragin, Lawrence Ragin of Pittsburgh Gerald Ragin of Philadelphia, Sandy (Rosemary) Crawley Jr., and Gary Porter of Geneva; five aunts Regina (Aunt Mickey) Ragin, Darlene Ragin, and Mattie Regina Cooper of Pittsburgh, and Katherine Regina Paige of Virginia, and Patricia Crawley of Geneva, Barbara Porter of Syracuse; a dear cousin Stephanie Wilson of North Carolina; mother in-law Dora Crawley and father in-law Edward Cure three sister in-laws Mary (Phillip) Crawley, Connie (Keith) Fields, and Lisa Giles; four brother in-laws Calvin, Christopher, and Craig (Rachel) Cure, and Christopher (Helen) White all of Geneva; A special niece Samira (TeTe) ; military brothers Daniel Bliss and Joseph Ellinger; a dear friend Aaron Waye; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Robert is predeceased by his parents Roberta Ragin, Charles and Dorothy Staten. Instead of flowers the family would like for all donations to Veterans of the Iraq War.
