Charles F. McCann FAYETTE-Charles F. McCann, 60, passed away suddenly on Mon. (Aug. 24, 2015) at his home. Friends may call from 2 to 6 pm Thursday (Aug. 27) at Geneva High School, 101 Carter Rd. Geneva. The Firemen final salute will be at 6 pm following calling hours. A prayer service will be celebrated at 10 am Fri. (Aug 28) at Geneva High School. A private burial will follow. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Fayette Volunteer Fire Dept., PO Box 41, Fayette, NY or to a Fire Dept. of your choice in Charles’s memory. Charlie was born on March 7, 1955 in Geneva and was the son of James V. McCann, Jr and the late Mary F. McCann. He was a graduate of St. Stephen’s Catholic School, De Sales High School in 1973, FLCC and received his master’s in 1997 from Empire State College. Charlie was a former employee at Geneva Ambulance, VA Fire Dept., and Assistant Chief at the Seneca Army Depot Fire Dept. Then currently, he is a New York State and County Fire and EMT Instructor, president of the Board of Fire Commissioners, Treasurer of Fayette Fire Dept., Director of Emergency Management and Fire Coordinator for Seneca County. He was a life member and past Chief at Fayette Volunteer Fire Dept., member Seneca County fire chief Association, Seneca County Hazmat Team, Seneca County Fire Investigation Team, South Seneca Ambulance, Waterloo Fire Dept., Nester Hose Fire Company and fish fry master. He is survived by his wife Lynda (Case) McCann; children Kimberly (Vincent Sindoni) Stevens, Christopher McCann and Bryan (Jackie) McCann; father James V. McCann, Jr.; sister Mary Jo (Al) Smith; brother James V. (Linda) McCann, III; grandchildren CJ Stevens, Alex, Joseph and Carter Sindoni and Rylynn McCann; uncle, several cousins, nieces and nephews. Charlie is predeceased by his mother Mary F. McCann and beloved dog Bear.
