Edward Calvin Cure NEW LONDON, CT/GENEVA- Edward Calvin Cure, 73, passed away on Wed. (Oct. 21, 2015), at home. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Fri. (Oct. 30), at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 70 Clark St. Geneva. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Edward was born on May 15, 1942 in Sanford, Fla. and was a son of the late Minnie Lee Sparrow and his step-father, the late Louis Porter. He worked for D&R Furniture in Geneva, the City of Rochester, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe and most recently was the co-owner of Cure-Fields Landscaping for 18 years. He is survived by his sons, Christopher Cure, Christopher Tyler, Craig Cure and David Brinson; daughters, Mary Simpson, Chrystal Ragin, Constance Cure-Fields and Lisa Giles; brothers, Gary Porter, Abraham Porter, Horace Porter and Henry McFadden; sister, Barbara Porter-Little and Mattie Sapp; 25 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. In addition to his mother, Edward was predeceased by his sons, Calvin Cure and Quincy Cure; brother, Louis Porter; nephew, Cole Richardson and niece, Chasity Taylor.
