Joyce T. Oddi GENEVA- Joyce T. Oddi, 89, passed away peacefully, after a brief illness on Fri. (Nov. 20, 2015), at Geneva General Hospital, with her loving family by her side. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tues. (Nov. 24), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC 28 Genesee St. Geneva. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m. Wed. (Nov. 25), a St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Geneva. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Mausoleum. Contributions may be directed to Our Lady of Peace Parish 130 Exchange St. Geneva, NY 14456 or the American Cancer Society 1120 South Goodman St. Rochester, NY 14520. Joyce was born on Aug. 17, 1926 in Pocatello, ID and was a daughter of the late George and Otille Swinderman. She was a 1944 graduate of St. Brigid's Catholic School in San Francisco, CA. In 1945, she met and married the love of her life, Robert J. Oddi, Sr., in San Francisco while he was serving in the United States Marine Corps. They moved across the country to Robert's hometown of Geneva, where they settled and raised their family. Robert and Joyce enjoyed 66 years of marriage until he passed away in 2012. Joyce worked as an administrative assistant to both Congressman William Walsh and Congressman Gary Lee. She also worked for the Ontario County Court system for 25 years as a court attendant. Joyce was a devoted member of Our Lady of Peace Parish in Geneva and St. Mary's Church in Waterloo, was a longtime member of the Republican Committee in Geneva and served as a Catholic Daughter in Geneva. She loved life and cherished the time she spent with her loving family. She is survived by her children, Barbara (Bruce) Davie of Romulus, Robert (Deborah) Oddi, Jr. of Waterloo, Marien (Michael) Canale of Romulus and Mark (Kelly) Oddi of Victor; brother, Joseph (Florence) Swinderman of Coos Bay, OR; grandchildren, Michelle (Andy) Candidori, Brad (Moon Choi) Davie, Brian Oddi, Marla, Mia, Marisa and Michele Canale, Alison, Carly and Mark Oddi; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Sofia Candidori, Mayson and Brielle Davie, Brian, Jr. and Alexandra Oddi; several nieces and nephews. Joyce was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Robert J. Oddi, Sr., and five sisters.
