Obituary of Alma A. Guerrie

Alma A. Guerrie GENEVA- Alma A. Guerrie, 98, passed away peacefully on Sun. (Dec. 27, 2015), at Geneva General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wed. (Dec. 30), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC 28 Genesee ST. Geneva. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m. Thurs. (Dec. 31), at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Geneva. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Contributions may be directed to the Pathway House P.O. Box 516 Seneca Falls, NY 13148, or the charity of one's choice. Alma was born on Sept. 7, 1917 in Geneva and was a daughter of the late Warner and Harriet (Marsh) Palmer. She was a member of the second class that graduated from the Marion S. Whelan School of Nursing. Alma worked at Geneva General Hospital for 22 years. Most of her tenure at the hospital was spent in the maternity ward. She took great pride in caring for the babies. Alma was a member of the G.A.I.L. Lodge 2397A, a former member of the Rosary Society and the Senior Citizens Club of Waterloo and Geneva. She enjoyed baking, dancing and spending time with her loving family. She is survived by her children, Donna (Robert) Decker of Geneva, Carmen "Bomber" (Beverly) Guerrie of Geneva and Michael (Linda) Guerrie of Geneva; sister, Doris Moses of Geneva, sister-in-law, Audrey Palmer of Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Alma was predeceased by her husband Carmen S. Guerrie in 1967; brothers, Warner (Nina) Palmer II, Stanton (Florence) Palmer and Frank Palmer; sisters, Anna (Ed) Kirby , Alice (George) Livermore, Louise (Francis) Fenner and.Kathryn (Frank) Albro.
