Betty Jean Harrison GENEVA- Betty Jean Harrison 85, passed away peacefully on Mon. (Dec. 31, 2012), at the Geneva Living Center North. At Betty's request, there will be no prior calling hours or memorial service. If you wish to make a charitable contribution in Mom's name, please consider the Kessler Burn and Trauma Center, Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY. Betty was born on Dec. 18, 1927, in Starkey, NY to Walter and Mabel (Wixson) Tuttle. At 16, she moved to Geneva with her mom and younger siblings, working as a waitress to help support the family. Over her lifetime, she worked at many local restaurants including, Fairchild's, Sacone's, the Franklin Hotel and Dunk N' Sip. For a time, she resided in Boca Raton, FL, where she also worked in the restaurant business. This profession perfectly suited her vivacious personality and friendly nature. One of her proudest accomplishments was earning her GED in 1968 from Mr. Guerra's class at GHS. She loved to read, play cards, entertain her friends and bake the best pies and cinnamon bread ever. She is survived by her two children; a daughter, Charlene (Ernie) Wyatt of Romulus; a son, Charles Pinckney of Newark; a grandson, Christopher Wyatt of Clifton Springs; a sister, Nancy A. John of Geneva; (sister friends), Janice Meeks of Geneva and Hazel Hamlett of Boca Raton, FL; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Betty was predeceased by an infant daughter, Patricia Pinckney; sister, Dora Dean; brother, Walter Edward Tuttle; favorite brother-in-law, Donald A. John; (sister friend), Sue Fairchild; and many life-long friends. Our family is grateful to those individuals at the Living Center North who gave Mom such excellent care. We also want to thank the aides from FLVN; Kim, Dominique, Ginger, Kathy and Therma; who made it possible for Mom to live independently. A special thanks to Dr. William Platzer, for his excellent care and friendship over the last fourteen years. You exemplified what the doctor/patient relationship should be for all others in the medical profession.
