Albert "Al" L. Smith GENEVA- Albert "Al" L. Smith passed away peacefully on Wed. (May 18, 2016), surrounded by his family at Geneva General Hospital. Friends may attend a funeral service at 4 p.m. on Sun. (May 22), in the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva. Because of Al's love for his pets, In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the Geneva Veterinary, 762 Pre-Emption Rd. Geneva, NY 14456. Al was born on Oct. 2, 1932, in Canandaigua, and was the son of the late Leo Burt and Lucile (Towner) Smith. He was owner and operator of two successful businesses in Geneva, Al Smith's Paint and Body Shop and Paradise Aquarium. Al was an avid motorcyclist and was a past member of the American Honda Association and the Gold Wing Riders Club. He enjoyed playing cards with his Friday night friends and his morning free breakfasts at Patsy's with the guys. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo (McCann) Smith; children, Kenneth (Georgia) Smith, Terry (Eunice) Smith, Teresa (John) Greco and Susan Smith; sister, Betty (Harold) Davie; grandchildren, Jessica (Robert) Butler, Christopher (Valerie) Smith, Jonathan (Tomomi) Monahan, Jason (Cassondra) Monahan, Amanda Melito and Molly Melito; 9 great-grandchildren; father-in-law, James V. McCann; brother-in-law, James McCann III; sister-in-law, Lynda McCann; special nieces and nephews, especially, Kim, Chris, Bryan and their children; special friends, Tony and Donna, Bob and Barb; special companion, Scooter. Al was predeceased by his sons, Richard and David Smith; mother-in-law, Mary F. McCann; brother-in-law, Charlie McCann.
