GENEVA/ROCHESTER- JoAnn P. McKone, 73, passed away on Mon. (May 30, 2016), at home with her loving family by her side. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thurs. (June 2), at Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva, NY. Funeral services will begin with prayers in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Fri. (June 3), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Geneva, NY. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterloo, NY. JoAnn was born on August 9, 1942, the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Moriarity) McKone. She graduated from Geneva High School, Class of 1960. JoAnn grew up in Geneva but spent her adult life living and working in Rochester. She worked in finance for Shuron-Continental for 30 years. For the last twenty five years JoAnn worked in Accounts Payable at the University of Rochester and also worked part time at Tops Market. A great lover of sports, she was a pitcher and manager for the Rochester Women's Major League Softball for many years. JoAnn was an avid bowler and also enjoyed golf. She was very fond of animals especially Olde English Sheepdogs. JoAnn acquired her dogs, Chester, Max and Isaac from Adoption Rescue. She is survived by her sisters, Sheila McKone and Mary (Michael) DeMatties; her niece, Molly DeMatties. JoAnn was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Margaret.
