Bill and I had many conversations about is love of the rail road. He perked up when he learned that my grandfather worked on the D & H rail road. I was entertained by his many jokes and enjoyed the fact that he always laughed along with me. I work at the Credit Union in Geneva and many times he would come in with ice in his beard and I would always tease him about trimming it and getting a hair cut. He will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Sherring, Katie,Will & family, we are so sorry for your loss. Bill was a great man and neighbor who loved to talk about his family and his trips to railroad auctions. He was especially proud of his grandchildren. We will miss him and his stories.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

My "Thought's and Prayers" are with you Katie, Helen, Wil, Krista, and Ryan,....my "Heart" aches for all of you. Bill was a good man who did so many good things in his lifetime, being a good husband, a good provider for his children and grandchildren and also for the community of Geneva, New York.
I am so proud to say that it was a "Blessing" for me to have met Bill when I was a little boy playing baseball in "Geneva Little League" back in the mid 70's when he gave his time as one of our leagues umpires. He was well know for driving his antique "model" T car to all the games. Then a very good childhood friend ( brother ) of mine "Raymond "Hansel" Ortiz" married Bill and Helen's daughter "Kathryn" and they had two beautiful children "Ryan" and "Krista" which I am so happy to say "Proudly" that I was asked to be their "Godfather". With this said I was able to get to know "Bill" even better over the year's, he loved talking baseball whether it was about the New York Yankee's or about me and my day's of playing baseball. He always had very good thing's to say about me and my pitching day's.
You will be deeply missed, my friend...God Bless your "Soul" and "Rest In Peace"...love you, Bill.
