Anthony "Tony" J. Anastasi, Jr. GENEVA- Anthony "Tony" J. Anastasi, Jr., 88, passed away on Wed. (Feb. 1, 2017), at Geneva General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. In honoring his wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tues. (Feb. 7), at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Geneva. The burial will be in the spring in Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Our Lady of Peace Parish, 130 Exchange St. Geneva, NY 14456, or the charity of one's choice. Tony was born on Oct. 11, 1928, in Geneva and was a son of the late Anthony J. and Lucy (Cook) Anastasi, Sr. He attended De Sales Catholic High School. Tony served his country in the United States Army from 1950 to 1952, during the Korean War. He owned A&C Trucking, Ana-Cola Corp. and Anastasi's Restaurant in Geneva. Tony was an active member of the Sons of Italy Lodge 2397, the VFW Post 2670 and the American Legion Post 396. He was a dedicated communicant of Our Lady of Peace Parish and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Tony was an avid card player who enjoyed trips to the casino. He loved to golf and served as "ranger" at Big Oak Golf Course. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather whose family was most important to him. Tony was always there for his family and spent his happiest moments surrounded by them. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Marlene (Perce) Anastasi of Geneva; daughters, Karen Springmeier of Geneva, Mary Lou (David) Eddy of Norwich and Lori (Richard) Nardone of Geneva; sister, Teresa Cazzola of Geneva; brothers, Patrick Anastasi of Fla. and Frank (Ellen) Anastasi of Fla.; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Anastasi of Geneva, Karen (Leon) Austin of Rose, Arline Perce of Wolcott and Raquel Perce of NV; grandchildren, Erica, Christopher and Elisha Eddy, Jeffrey (Olga) Springmeier, Adam, Patrick and Brian Nardone; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Tony was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph Anastasi, August Anastasi and Salvatore Anastasi; brother-in-law, Paul Cazzola.
