Gretel A. Spina
GENEVA-Gretel A. Spina, 82, passed away peacefully at Geneva General Hospital.
In honoring her wishes, there will be no calling hours. A prayer service will be at a later date.
Gretel was born on June 24, 1934 in Germany and was the daughter of the late Frieda (Schmidt) and George Hohn. She grew up in Germany during WW II, met and married CPL Benjamin R. Spina on July 8, 1953. They moved to Geneva and raised their family. Gretel worked at Phillips-Sylvania in Seneca Falls. She enjoyed gardening and walking, she walked every day.
She is survived by her husband Benjamin Spina of Geneva; son Steve Spina of Geneva; daughter Stefanie (Steve) Brown of Arizona; sister Wilhelmina Young of Michigan; cousins in Germany.
Gretel is predeceased by her parents and sister Erika Dove.
