Obituary of Bruce Huie

Bruce Davis Huie GENEVA-Bruce Davis Huie, 72, passed away peacefully on Mon. (Sept. 25, 2017), at The Highlands of Brighton, Rochester, with his family at his side. Family and friends may call 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm (Sept. 30), at No 9 Church, 4414 No 9 Road, Stanley, NY followed by a Masonic Memorial Service at 2 pm with a Funeral Service to follow. In lieu of flowers contributions may be to Masonic Charities c/o William Colin, 0709 Waterloo-Geneva Road, Waterloo, NY 13165 in Bruce's memory. Bruce was born on April 17, 1945 in Geneva and was the son of the late Alice (Howell) and Lawrence Huie. He worked for 20 yrs. at American Can, later retired from Geneva General Hospital. Bruce was a member Geneva Masonic Lodge 965, Shriners, Corning Consistory, Treasurer of O.S.Y. Charity Organizations, Two Cylinder Club, Stream & Engine Association and President of Finger Lakes Good Sam Camping Club. He enjoyed gardening and was a lawn care fanatic, camping, restoring John Deere Tractors, golfing and spending time with his family and friends. Bruce is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart Rose Mary Huie of Geneva; children Lisa Buchholz of Rochester, Christine (Dana) Hutchinson of Bemus Point, NY and David (Shellie) Huie of Stanley; sisters Mary (William) Colin of Waterloo, Linda Sellinger of Geneva; grandchildren Dustin & Dalton Buchholz, Nicholas & Aaron Hutchinson, Erica & Benjamin Mays and Alex Huie; Great grandson Grayson Horn; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
