Family is who we are and loyalty is what we do.
John was very loyal and a great family man who made every moment we shared together special. When you left a family get together after spending time with John you couldn't help but have a smile on your face. He was a great story teller, always had a passion for life and will be truely missed.
John, we'll stick together as this family does, we'll laugh together and tell countless stories about you, we'll cry together and separately because of the loss we feel and knowing it will never be the same without you.
Thank you for always being there for me and the family.
Love Mike

To Johnny and Nancy, It's the most unnatural thing to lose child. It seems so unfair, but God must have needed your son in Heaven, as he was such a great man. Take one day at a time and find comfort in all your fond memories, and know that John is Home, safe Jesus. Love, Doris and Terry Gee.

I never knew John but read of his passing in the paper. I was very moved by the description of him and his life and what he valued. He seems like a wonderful person - the kind that anyone would love to have as a friend. I know you must grieve deeply for his loss and I want you to know that he and all who love him are in my prayers.
Respectfully sent. God bless.

Kelly and I were classmates of John in high school. I moved to Geneva my junior year and had a tough time adjusting at first. John was one of the people who made me feel at home and a part of my class. He invited me into his home and became a good friend. Although we lost touch after high school, I will always be grateful for his generosity, compassion, and infectious enthusiasm for life. He will be greatly missed yet remembered even more. We offer our deepest sympathies to both the Russo and Jaworoski families.

May God comfort you and keep you strong in the days to come as John returns to forever. It seems to me that he was pretty special to be called back to assist in God's work in heaven. Although it seems so cruel to lose someone so dear, there is an epitaph I truly believe, and find comfort in, “To live in the hearts of those we love, is not to die.” Time will eventually dull the pain, but John will never be forgotten. Please accept our condolences. Love, Sherri, Don, & Josh

His suffering has ended, but ours has just begun. May we learn not only to count our blessings in this life, but to use every conscious moment to treat our family and friends with love and kindness, as if there is no tomorrow. I have been blessed to know this family and I know that our Blessed Mother is holding John in her arms right now. May God have mercy on us in our grief.

John was the quintessential All American kid. He was blessed with that rare combination of intellect, athleticism, good looks and humility. John was just one of those guys that people naturally gravitated towards.....such a special person. Our collective hearts ache for the entire Russo and Jaworoski families. May God give you the strength to get through this difficult time. Rest in Peace Johnny.

Johnny represents what every parent should consider to be the "epitome" of the perfect child. A "class act" in all aspects of his life. The type of kid that you would always be "proud to bring home and introduce to your mother." A very good boy from a very good family. He was humble and respectful. Why is it that God always seems to take the best ones first? I am so proud of the fact that I had the opportunity to know him.

I know I speak on behalf of the Class of '95 at GHS when I say that John was the kindest, most talented, and most definitely one of the most intelligent members of our class. I can still see John driving the Black Bronco down North Brook Street or waiting out front to pick me up for a workout session at the Y. We all loved watching John play sports. He was so genuine and real. I am praying for his wonderful family that the memories of John will help them navigate this very difficult time. Thank you for being who you were, John.

Always had a smile and a kind word. Never heard you say a cross word. The best football partner I could have; brought us to the Super Bowl 2 years in a row and this year we were 1 of only two that won in both divisions. I will never get there again. Please give papa a hug and kiss for us and please intercede to God for us who loved you so. I'll miss our texting. Love you.
