I, Heather Elizabeth German, am lighting this Candle on behalf myself and my Mom, Dorothy D. German too. I still recall the memories of your Father John Healey and your Sister Sue with Zach and Adam walking upon the Maine Shore and holding Zach's hand so, he did not wander off. I will keep your Family in my prayers too.

My deepest condolences to the family. Steve was good friends with my husband, Ed, who passed away 4 years ago. Ed used to joke the two Steves (another friend named Steve) were his bookends when they went out. Steve was very nice to me after Ed died and I will always remember him fondly. He left us too soon.

Stephen and I first met on Lakeview Ave. in the late 1950's. Our families lived across the street from each other. We knew each other all through our childhoods. I'm so very sorry to hear of his passing. I have many great memories of Stephen. I am hoping your memories will provide some comfort to you in this difficult time.

Dear Barb and Stepen,
Shirley and I were speechless and struck numb this morning when we read of Steve's passing. He was one of the best scientists that I hired at Cerion and it was a joy to work with him. We tackled together some really difficult chemical therapy issues on central nervous system diseases with positive energy, wit and success.
On a personal note, he was a hero of mine. Overcoming every obstacle that life could throw at him, Steve was irrepressible. He was a stand-up person of great character and a true and passionate friend of the environment.
Shirley and I so looked forward to seeing you and Steve at least once per year at your annual open house to learn the latest and greatest ideas on living an independent and ecologically benign life.
I am reminded of a few lines of the poem Invictus by Henley " it matters not how straight the gate nor tortured with punishments the scroll, I am the master of my fate , I am the captain of my soul.
Our heart- felt condolences to you and Stephen, we mourn your personal loss.
Let us know if we can help in any way.

Barb and Stephen -
What a beautiful obituary!
My memories of Steve are from the Seton days...he was the most involved Dad there.
"Lunch Dad" extraordinaire! I remember sitting with him at Mass at Queen of Peace and he would keep all the boys in Stephen's and Juju's classes in line with just a look. :)
Wishing you both much love and peace...
~Sue

I am so very sorry about Steve's passing. I know that he entered into the operation with his eyes open to possible outcomes, and that his own father's passing had a profound effect on his outlook on life and death, but that doesn't lessen the sorrow of losing a beloved father, husband and friend. My condolences to you all.
