Joyce Theresa Quartaro GENEVA- Joyce Theresa Quartaro, 82, passed away unexpectedly on Fri. (Nov. 17, 2017), at Geneva General Hospital. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Mon. (Nov. 20), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral home LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tues. (Nov. 21), at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Geneva. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Mausoleum. Joyce was born on Oct. 15, 1935 and raised in Manchester, NY. She was the daughter of the late Armand and Genevieve (Cassetta) Cianfoni. Joyce graduated from Red Jacket High School in 1953 and went on to Rochester Business Institute and worked lifelong as a professional secretary. She retired from Finger Lakes Community College after 21 years. Joyce was an active member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, the Our Lady of Peace Parish Choir and the Finger Lakes Community College Camerata Choir. She volunteered at Geneva General Hospital and the Catholic Charities Lunch Program. Joyce had a zest for life. She delighted in spending time with her large, loving family and many friends. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life. She was an amazing cook, avid gardener and her neighbors looked forward to her seasonal decorations. Joyce loved music and touched everyone with her singing, kindness and sense of humor. She was beautiful, both inside and out. She is survived by her companion, Steve Parry of Geneva; children, Nick (Stephanie) Quartaro of Somerset, NJ, Lori (Hamid) Chaib of Redondo Beach, CA, Paul (Lisa) Quartaro of Geneva and Linda Quartaro of Sarasota Fla.; brothers, Daniel (Maxine) Cianfoni of Manchester, NY and Ronald (Donna) Cianfoni of San Antonio, Fla.; sister, Angela D'Ardruini of Manchester, NY; grandchildren, Andria, Tony (Nora), Alia, Mimi, Zack, Ashley (Chase), Katarina, Joey, Jake, Josh and Emma; great-grandchildren, Grayson, Abigail, Carson and Gemma; many nieces, nephews and friends. Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Quartaro; sister, Pauline Mitzewich. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Finger Lakes Community College for the Dr. Walker Scholarship Fund, 3325 Marvin Sands Dr. Canandaigua, NY 14424, the American Cancer Society, 1100 Goodman St. S., Rochester, NY 14620, or the charity of one's choice.
