Robert "Goober" Anthony Venturino WATERLOO/GENEVA- Robert "Goober" Anthony Venturino, 62, passed away peacefully in his home on Wed. (Nov. 29, 2017). Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Mon. (Dec. 4), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tues. (Dec. 5), in St. Stephen's Catholic Church Geneva. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery with full military honors. Robert was born on June 5, 1955 in Geneva and was a son of Michael R. and the late Colleen B. (Linehan) Venturino. He served his country in the United States Army in the 82nd Airborne as a paratrooper, and then went on to serve in the United States Army Reserves. Robert worked as a RN for many years in various hospitals in the area and was the team nurse for the De Sales football team. He was a member of the North Seneca Sportsman's Club. Robert was an avid hunter who enjoyed the outdoors, the pool, gardening, carpentry and cooking. Most of all, he was a very proud father and grandfather. He is survived by his father, Michael R. Venturino of Geneva; children, Anthony (Vanessa) Venturino of Seneca Falls, John Venturino of Geneva, Mariah (Tombo) Venturino of Lyons, Hannah Venturino of Seneca Falls and Eliza Venturino of Seneca Falls; siblings, Kathy (Joe) Walter of Syracuse, Mike (Colleen) Venturino of Geneseo and Steve Venturino of Dresden; nieces and nephew, Claire Lawson, Capt. Mark Venturino USAF and Christian Venturino; granddaughter, Morgan Wright; extended family, Kate (John McCloskey) Venturino and Victoria McCloskey, of Seneca Falls. Robert was predeceased by his mother, Colleen (Linehan) Venturino.
