GENEVA- Richard V. Mason, 79, passed away on Wed. (June 20), at home. Family and friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Mon. (July 2), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Richard was born on April 6, 1939, in Jefferson City, MO and was a son of the late Curtis Randolph and Beulah Mae (Highfill) Mason. He received a Bachelor's Degree from Ohio University and his Doctorate from the University of Toronto. Richard was a professor of Sociology at Hobart and William Smith Colleges for over 30 years, retiring in 2013. He was a member of the United States Army Reserves. Richard was a lifelong gardener, sometime vintner and general patron of the inebriate arts.
He is survived by his sons, Brendan V. (Sarah) Mason of Geneva and Mark R. Mason of Joplin, MO; grandpiggy, Wiggles.
Richard was predeceased by his wife, Linda Marciano Mason in 2017; brothers, Val Mason and Robert Rowe; sister, Pat Rowe.
