Rev. Clarence Williams GENEVA- Rev. Clarence Williams, 78, passed into the Arms of his Lord and Savior on Wed. (April 3, 2012), at Geneva General Hospital. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Fri. (April 5), at the Mt. Calvary Church of God in Christ, 21 Milton St. Geneva. Friends may call from10 to 11 a.m. Sat. (April 6), at the Presbyterian Church, 24 Park Pl. Geneva, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial with full military honors will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Contributions may be directed to the Mt. Calvary Church of God in Christ, 21 Milton St. Geneva, NY 14456. Rev. Williams was born on June 10, 1934 in Canton, OH and was a son of the late John and Lettie (Floyd) Williams. He graduated from Elmira High School and served his country in the United States Army. After the Army, Rev. Williams worked as a salesman for the Equitable Life Insurance Company and then went on to become a banker for Marine Midland Bank in Elmira. He began pastoring in 1968 in Elmira, serving as a youth pastor. Rev. Williams moved to Geneva in 1974 and began his ministry as Pastor of the Mt. Calvary Church of God in Christ. Over the years he served his church faithfully and held positions at the state level as Administrative Assistant to Bishop Anderson and later to Bishop Wright. Rev. Williams was also the Financial Treasurer for the church, code enforcer for the city of Geneva, served on the board, and was a bailsman for the Center of Concern in Geneva. He was a humble and giving man, who loved people and enjoyed helping in many ways. Rev. Williams' service to his church and community will forever be remembered and respected. He is survived by his devoted wife, Dorothy Williams of Geneva; sons, Clarence (Cindy) Williams of Corning, Curtis Williams of Elmira and Wallace (Carol) Mouzon of Atlanta, GA; brothers, Tommy Williams of Canton, OH and David (Debbie) Williams of League City, TX; sisters, Ella (John) White of Sun City, AZ, Shirley Harris, Helen Hill, Betty Ndocha and Cheryl Williams, all of Canton, OH; grandchildren, Priscilla Williams, Curtis Williams, Jr., Carmella Mouzon, Sonia Mouzon, Jamar Mouzon, Elizabeth Dray, Juanita Olyer; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
