Obituary of Vivian M. Vicente
Please share a memory of Vivian to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
WATERLOO- Vivian "Mama" (Morales) Vicente, 73, passed away peacefully on Thursday (January 17, 2019) with her loving family by her side. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday (January 24), with prayers at 7 p.m. at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC 28 Genesee St. Geneva. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday (January 25), at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Geneva.
Vivian was born on November 8, 1945 in Yauco, Puerto Rico and was the daughter of the late Andres and Leonor Morales. She came to the United States with her family in 1956 when she was 10 years old and adapted to her new life in Geneva. Many years later, at the age of 17, she met and married the craziest, most passionate, loving Spaniard by the name of Anthony Vicente. When her children were little she decided to take on a part time job at The Bargain Center in Geneva and then later began working at K Mart in Geneva, where she retired and then worked again overnights at WalMart for a few years. Vivian was an amazing seamstress and loved not only making clothes for her daughters when they were little, but also enjoyed making costumes for her grandchildren for Halloween and for their drama performances at school. Vivian adored her grandchildren and her great grandchild. She would light up the minute any of them entered the room! Vivian was known as "Mama" to everyone. She was a member of St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Geneva.
She is survived by her daughters; Vivian (Dan) Kane of Rochester and Rachel (Craig) Cure of Waterloo; brothers, Habeal (Bianca) Morales of Geneva and Marvin (Kristin) Morales of Mt. Morris; sisters, Melania Acevedo of Rochester and Vilma Cruz of Geneva; grandchildren, Ethan, Ellie and Emma Olson of Rochester and Justin, Jazmen and Jaeden "Bubba" Cure of Waterloo; great-grandson, Jonah Kiehle and several nieces and nephews.
Vivian was predeceased by her husband Anthony "Papa" Vicente; son, Kenneth A. "Kenny" Vicente, brothers Andres, Noel and Ivan Morales; and sisters, Erania Azzerone and Magdalen Lopez.
