Anna Mae Arms Anna Mae Arms, 80, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013 at The House of John in Clifton Springs. A lifelong resident of Geneva, NY, Anna Mae was born July 2, 1932 to the late Joseph and Mary (Niles) Marino. In addition to being a wife and mother of five daughters, she held jobs at Magnetic Components, the Ethel Abraham shop, Kmart, and Seneca Foods, from which she would retire. In her earlier years, Anna Mae enjoyed many hobbies with her husband, including do-si-doing around the square-dance floor and camping with friends at nearby campgrounds. She became an avid and cutthroat bingo and card player, winning many games at the Geneva American Legion Euchre tournaments, as well as leaving many defeated players in her wake after family games of Hearts, Phase 10 and Rummy. Anna was a beloved member of the Geneva Senior Citizen Group and looked forward to spending Thursdays with the group as well as taking many bus trips. She also traveled to her father's homeland of Italy twice, with her siblings Mary Jane, Sylvia, and Joe. Anna's love of the performing arts led her to volunteer at the Smith Opera House in Geneva in her free-time. An exciting moment in Anna's life was when she saw her favorite crooner and long-time love, Andy Williams, in person. Anna will be remembered by her loved ones for her selfless and forgiving ways, love of wearing holiday attire, and her concern for making sure everyone always had something to eat. Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E Arms in 2012, sisters Kay Palmisano and Josie Prater and son in-law Eddie Will. She is survived by her daughters, Lucinda (Walter) Johnston of Penn Yan, Patricia (James) Calhoun of Warrensburg, New York, Paula Will of Maitland, Florida, Sharon (James) Olschewske of Geneva, and Roberta Lead of Geneva, her sisters Mary Jane (Tony) Sabo of Hudson Falls, New York and Sylvia Opiechowski of West Lynn, MA, and brother Joseph (Dorothy) Marino of Geneva. Anna also leaves behind her 6 grandchildren, Rebecca Johnston Finch, Emily (Ryan) Johnston Montgomery, Kyle Olschewske, Alexandra Will, Lauren Olschewske, and Benjamin Lead; 3 great-grandchildren, Olivia, Natalie and Andrew Finch, and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial for Anna will be held on Wednesday, June 5 at 10:00 am at St. Francis Church in Geneva, NY. Burial will follow in Oaklwn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anna's memory can be made to The House of John in Clifton Springs, NY.
