GENEVA- Thomas "Tom" J. Spina, 89, passed away peacefully on Sun. (Dec. 20, 2020), at the Homestead in Penn Yan. In honoring his wishes, there will be no prior calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Sat. (Dec. 26), at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Geneva. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Mausoleum, with full military honors. Contributions may be directed to Our Lady of Peace Parish, 130 Exchange St. Geneva, NY 14456. Tom was born in Geneva, NY and was a son of Anthony and Lucy (Ignelzi) Spina. He served his country proudly as a U.S. Marine in the Korean War. Tom worked as a foreman at Humphrey Press for 23 years and then worked for many years and retired from the Seneca Army Depot. He enjoyed working around his house and loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the Sons of Italy and the American Legion Post 396. He is survived by his devoted wife, Carol (Swift) Spina of Geneva; son, Joseph Spina of Brighton; daughter, Kathy (Bob) Main of Canandaigua; grandson and light of his life, Nicholas Main; several nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his daughter, Karen Marie Spina; siblings, Jim Spina, Elsie LoPresti, Teresa Donofrio, Violet Cataline, Norene Fospero, Johnny Spina and his twin brother, Joseph Spina.
