GENEVA- Francis "Frank" V. Modaffari, 77, passed away peacefully on Mon. (Jan. 18, 2021), at home with his family by his side. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Fri. (Jan. 22), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee St., Geneva. Those who attend must wear a mask and follow the rules of social distancing. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Stephen's Church, 48 Pulteney Street, Geneva. Burial will follow the funeral mass in St. Mary Cemetery, Geneva. Contributions may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Frank was born on June 21, 1943, in Buffalo, NY and was a son of the late Giovani and Assunta (Mardochino) Modaffari. He worked in the maintenance dept. at Penn Yan Central School District and also as a security guard at Keuka College until his retirement from Penn Yan School. Frank was a member of the Yates County Sportsman's Club and enjoyed participating in events at the Duck Hunters Club. He was an avid hunter, bowler and lover of nature. Frank enjoyed being a Little League Umpire for many years. Frank was a loving father and grandfather. His family was his everything. He loved his Tuesday NCIS Night with his grandson, Christian. He enjoyed attending sporting events. Watching his children and grandchildren, play. He also loved his Bills and Yankees. His family was always his main focus. He especially enjoyed and looked forward to the annual Mardino reunion. Frank spent several years as president of the local CSEA and CSEA Retiree Unions. A devout Christian, he was a member of the Nights of Columbus. He took pride in helping others. Our father was loved by many and will be missed by everyone, including his loyal companion, Mr. Buttons. He is survived by his loving wife, Maureen (Meredith) Modaffari of Geneva; children Renee (Brian) Ehrhardt of Buffalo, Beth (Nathan) Stranges of Horseheads, Eileen Modaffari of Geneva, Frank (Christy) Modaffari of Palmyra, Jeanette (Lee LaManche) Modaffari of Geneva, Peter Modaffari of Texas, Joseph (Catherine Youngs) Modaffari of Hall, and Ruth (Erwin Gomez) Modaffari of Geneva; siblings Mary (David) Spiess, Angelina Modaffari, Louise Pawlik and Martin (Lynn) Modaffari; numerous grandchildren. Frank is predeceased by his daughter Bridget Modaffari-Hegedus; siblings Paulina, William, Margherita, Peter, John, Assunta and James.
