Obituary of Theresa L. Bates

Theresa L. Bates WATERLOO- Theresa L. Bates, 60, passed away on Mon. (Feb. 8, 2021), at Strong Memorial Hospital. There will be no prior calling hours. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo. Theresa was born on May 19, 1960, in Geneva and was a daughter of the late Duane and Ethel (Rugg) Bates. She was self-employed and worked as a hair dresser. Theresa was a collector of skulls and enjoyed arts & crafts, sewing and camping. She lived for her family and loved her children and grandchildren very much. She is survived by her children, Toni D'Amico of Canandaigua, Nicholas (Melissa) D'Amico of Seneca Castle, Patrick (Kari) D'Amico of Clifton Springs, David Scesny of Waterloo and Tenneka (Paul) Scesny of Seneca Falls; significant other, Pete Duryea of Waterloo; siblings, Michael (Angela) Bates of Canandaigua, Joseph (Tammy) Bates of Waterloo, Holly Bates of Fla., Carrie (Mike) Buckley of Waterloo, Dave Bates of Waterloo, June Kopek of Waterloo, Ozzie (Marie) Bates of Seneca Falls, Steven Bates of Clyde and Mike Switzler of TX; grandchildren; Miranda, Lucas, Tara, Cailee, Bianca, Ernie, Karmine, Cloey, Chole, Aven, Aurora and Gianno; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Theresa was predeceased by her sister, Debra Free.
