Blas "Abuelo" DeJesus
GENEVA-Blas "Abuelo" DeJesus, 82, passed away peacefully after a long illness at Geneva General Hospital. Friends may call from 2 to 6 pm Monday (March 8) at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee Street, Geneva. A graveside service will be 10:30 am Tuesday (March 9) in Glenwood Cemetery.
Abuelo was born in Puerto Rico on Feb. 4, 1939 and was the son the late Ernestina Rosario and Pablo DeJesus.
He worked for the New York City Housing Authority for 40+ years, before moving to Geneva where he dedicated his time to family, friends and church.
Abuelo is survived by his wife Maria Torres DeJesus; daughters Yadira (Ricardo) Marcucci of New York City, Ruth Torres of Seneca Falls, and Betsy Francechi of Geneva; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews Pablo, Wilfredo, Roberto, and Jose DeJesus, cousins and friends from Kingdom Hall, Waterloo.
He is predeceased by his parents; grandson Miguel A. Hernandez; brothers Pablo and Gregorio DeJesus; sister Martha DeJesus.
