GENEVA- Richard James Akens, 57, passed away peacefully on Fri. (April 9, 2021), at Geneva General Hospital. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wed. (April 14), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva. A prayer will be recited at 12 p.m. A private burial will be held in Sodus Rural Cemetery.
Richard was born on Dec. 26, 1963, in Geneva and was a son of the late William, Sr. and Katherine (Tack) Akens. He worked as a machinist at Vance Metal Fabricators in Geneva.
He is survived by his brothers, Kenneth (Kay) Akens and William Akens, Jr.; sisters, Norma Leone, Elaine Akens and Irene Akens; several nieces and nephews.
