GENEVA- Donato “Dan” Laurenza, 88, passed away peacefully on Sat. (April 24), at the Geneva Living Center North, surrounded by his loving family. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tues. (April 27), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva. Services will begin with calling hours from 12 to 1 p.m. Wed. (April 28), in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Geneva. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, with full military honors. Contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, 435 East Henrietta Rd. Rochester, NY 14620, Our Lady of Peace Parish, 130 Exchange St. Geneva, NY 14456, or the charity of one’s choice. Dan was born on April 27, 1932 in Capodrise, Italy and was a son of the late Guerino Laurenza and Antionette (Iadicicco) Laurenza. He came to this country in 1949 and became a United States citizen. Dan met the love of his life, Anne Cardinale. They were married for 65 years and had five beautiful children. Dan served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He became a successful business man, operating his Italian bakery with his brother, Alex. Dan retired from the Seneca Army Depot in 1994. He was a devoted member of St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church and the Sons of Italy. He is survived by his children, Karen Laurenza, David (Ellen) Laurenza, Daniel (Donna) Laurenza and Joseph (Linda) Laurenza; siblings, Frances Duchesne, Susan Russo, Betty Acquino, Joyce Tandle and Joan Morabito; brothers-in-law, Richard (Carol) Cardinale, Anthony Frank and Larry Uhl; sister-in-law, Marlene Laurenza; grandchildren, Michael (Sarah Cataline) Windle, Daniel (Margo) Laurenza, Jr., David (Hannah) Laurenza, Jr., Anna and Angelina Laurenza and Christine Brunner; great-grandchildren, Adam and Zain Bashire; several nieces, nephews, cousins, family in Italy and friends. Dan was predeceased by his loving wife, Anne (Cardinale) Laurenza; father, Guerino Laurenza; mother, Antionette Laurenza Tandle; step-father, Nicholas Tandle; infant daughter, Diane Laurenza; brother, Alex Laurenza; step-brothers, step-sisters and in-laws.
