WATERLOO- Giovanni 'Gio' James Bourne, 11, passed away on Tues. (June 22, 2021), at home. Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Mon. (June 28), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral home LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva. Reflections will be shared at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will held at 11 a.m. on Tues. (June 29) in Oaklawn Cemetery. Contributions may be directed to the Tristan Foundation, 10 W. Wright Ave. Waterloo, NY 13165. Gio was born on July 10, 2009 in Canandaigua and was the son of Angelicia Smith and Nicholas Bourne. Gio was a sixth grader (going on freshman in college) at Waterloo Middle School. He was athletic and enjoyed playing lacrosse and football. Gio was a stylish, dapper gentleman who enjoyed hot tea and dreamed of working for NASA. He loved rap music, Vans sneakers and cars. Gio was a very empathetic child who could read a room and instantly connect with people. He loved his parents and his sister, Esa, who he lovingly looked up to. He is survived by his parents Angelicia Smith and Nicholas Bourne of Waterloo; sister, Esa; maternal grandmother, Margarita Ramos (Mimi) of Seattle, WA; paternal grandmother, Nanni Bourne of Waterloo; paternal great-aunts and great-uncle, James and Cindy Bourne of Waterloo and Kathy Bourne of Waterloo; aunt, Titi Bourne of Waterloo; cousins, Adyan and Abby Bourne; several maternal great- aunts and first and second cousins who loved Gio very much; maternal great-grandmother, Petra Vega.
