Obituary of Robert A. Askin

Robert A. Askin GENEVA- Robert A. Askin, 73, passed away peacefully on Fri. (July 26, 2013), at the Geneva Living Center South. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Mon. (July 29), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC 28 Genesee St. Geneva. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tues. (July 30), in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery. Bob was born on May 28, 1940 in Geneva, and was a son of the late William 'Al' and Audrey (Cotton) Askin. He was a Geneva High School graduate, class of 1959. Bob was a former member of the White Springs Fire Dept. He spent 31 years working in the maintenance department of the Geneva General Hospital where many of his friends affectionately called him by his nickname, "the plunger". Bob enjoyed history, and loved to share his wisdom with his friends and family. He is survived by his sons, William Askin of Geneva, Michael (Susan) Askin of Concord, NC and Philip Askin of Tampa, FL; brother, James (Leslie) Askin of Geneva; aunt, Florence Leonard of Keuka Park; step-daughters, Judy Chapman Bisso of Horseheads and Laurie Goodin of Ocala, FL; nephews, Brian (Nicole) Askin of Geneva and their children, Nicholas and Nathan and Dean (Jessica) Askin of Geneva and their children, Jeremy and Madeline; grandchildren, Liam and Ryan Askin; 8 step-grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife, Georgina M. (Furano) Askin in 2010.
