Obituary of Elgene Wilson

GENEVA- Elgene Wilson, 73, passed away peacefully on Sat. (July 17, 2021), at Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center. Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Sat. (July 24) , at Jericho Faith Ministries, Geneva. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Elgine was born on Nov. 10, 1947, in Drew, MS and was a son of the late Lacy and Pullie Mae (Skipper) Wilson. He was a hardworking man with great strength. Elgine worked for many years as a custodian at Geneva General Hospital and was mentioned in the newspaper for his quality work on the floors. He also worked in lawn care for many years. Elgene was a genuine and caring person, who enjoyed dancing, riding his bike and would always be seen laughing. Elgene is survived by his children, Carol Maxon of Geneva, Eugene (Melinda) Wilson, Jr. of Rochester, Gimmie Wilson, Sr. of Geneva, Dorothy (Joseph) McKinzie of Geneva, Patricia (Joseph) Solomon of Geneva and Timothy (Justina) Wilson, Sr. of Geneva; sister, Mary of MS; 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Lacy Wilson, Bob Wilson, Steve Wilson and Curtis Wilson; sisters, Doretha and Teretha.
