Lawrence Joseph Sabatini GENEVA- Lawrence Joseph Sabatini, 87, passed away peacefully on Fri. (Aug. 2, 2013), at Clifton Springs Hospital. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tues. (Aug. 6), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC 28 Genesee St. Geneva. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wed. (Aug. 7), at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Geneva. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Mausoleum with full military honors. Contributions in Lawrence's name may be directed to Clifton Springs Hospital Foundation 2 Coulter Rd. Clifton Springs, NY 14432, or the Canandaigua VA 400 Fort Hill Avenue Canandaigua, NY 14424. Lawrence was born on Nov. 20, 1925 in Geneva, and was the son of the late Charles and Margaret (Bouslack) Sabatini. He proudly served his country in WWII. Lawrence worked as a plumber and steam fitter, employed by Willard State Hospital. After retirement, he became an owner and trainer at Finger Lakes Race Track. Lawrence enjoyed traveling, horse racing, square dancing, playing cards and watching Lawrence Welk. He was a member of the Geneva Rod and Gun Club, VFW Post 6200, Friendship Squares of Geneva and St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Geneva. He is survived by his daughter, Peg, her husband Larry, and grandson, Kevin Mitchell (Utica, NY) special nephew, Don Williams; special friend of 26 years, Evelyn Saul; and several other nieces and nephews. Lawrence was predeceased by his wife, Olympia (DeMatties) Sabatini; siblings, Camille Lewis, Charles Sabatini, Genevieve Williams, Betty Pacello and Dorothy Grier. The family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Christopher Wright and staff at the Clifton Springs Hospital and Geneva Dialysis Unit.
