Geneva - Lucy T. Taras, 87, passed away peacefully on Wed. (Jan. 19, 2022), at Geneva General Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Sat. (April 9), at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Geneva. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Mausoleum. Contributions may be directed to the Jim Dooley Center for Early Learning, 196 North St. Geneva, NY 14456. Lucy was born on Dec. 13, 1934, in Geneva and was a daughter of the late Gulia and Teresa Liberatore. She enjoyed reading, cooking, playing cards, thrift store shopping and lunch with friends. Lucy was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish and an avid Steeler fan. She is survived by her sons, Stephen (Regina) Taras, Gary (Kathy) Taras and Eugene Taras, Jr.; daughters, Tracey (Don Lagger) Taras, Lynne Taras and Jacquelyn Reid; brother, Carmen Liberatore; sisters, Mary Carnovale and Francis Pedersen; grandchildren Michael (Summer) Taras, David (Kristen) Taras, Geoffrey Taras, Jamie (Zach) Farrell, Kevin Cook, and Ethan Reid; great grandchildren Amelia, Austin and Carter Taras, Grace and Zoey Farrell; several nieces, nephews and many close friends. Lucy was predeceased by her husband, Eugene Taras, Sr.; sisters, Cecilia Broderick, Noreen Adair and Edie Deane; brother-in-law, Joe Carnovale and sister-in-law, Shirley Liberatore.
