GENEVA- Miguel "Big Mike" "Papa" Angel Padilla, 87, passed away peacefully on Tues. (Feb. 8, 2022), at Geneva General Hospital, surrounded by family. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tues. (Feb. 15), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva. A graveside service will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, with full military honors. Miguel was born on May 10, 1934 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. He was the son of the late Emiliano and Julia Padilla. He served his country proudly in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. Miguel worked at the Geneva Foundry until it closed. He then worked for Foldpak in Newark, NY until his retirement in 2003. Miguel went back to work at the Finger Lakes Racino until 2016. He loved to work out, lift weights and was a patron to many downtown businesses. Miguel enjoyed reading the newspaper, he followed politics, current events and sports. His favorite teams were the New York Yankees, the Buffalo Bills and the New York Knicks. He is survived by his special child, Michael Rodriguez of Geneva, NY; step-daughters, Cecilia (Jasper) Rodriguez of Geneva, NY, Julia (Robert) Rodriguez of Pittsburgh, PA and Jessica (Luis) Avila of Geneva, NY. Brothers, Francisco Garcia, of Lansing, Michigan, Jesus Manuel Padilla, of Bayamon, Puerto Rico, and sisters, Angela Padilla, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, Luzenaida Acevedo, of Arecibo, Puerto Rico, and Leonalda Padilla, of Bayamon, Puerto Rico. His beloved grand dogs, Riley and Lulu; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Miguel was predeceased by his life partner, Rosa P. Rivera.
