Grace J. Alessi
GENEVA/BUFFALO-Grace, 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at Geneva Living Center North on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022. In honoring her wishes, there will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis Church at the family's convenience.
Grace was born on January 14, 1933, in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late Helen (Kane) and George Williams. She is survived by children Donna (Raymond) Weaver, Mary Czachorowski, Donald Heerdt II, and Deborah Overholt; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husbands Donald Heerdt and Albert Alessi; sons-in- law Richard Czachorowski and Gerald Overholt; brothers Arthur Ross, and James Carducci, and sister Mary Reusch.
Grace worked as a retail clerk at various department stores, and as an office data entry clerk before her retirement. She loved to laugh, dance, and have a fun time. A fan of movies and mystery novels, Grace also enjoyed sewing, crafts, and traveling. She became a member of the Red Hat Society in 1999 and could often be seen with her friends Margie, Delilah, and Ellen.
