GENEVA- Agnes B. Hoefler, 104, passed away on Fri. (May 20, 2022), at M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center in Canandaigua. In honoring her wishes, there will be no prior calling hours. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sat. (June 4), in the Chapel at the Presbyterian Church in Geneva. A private burial will be at the convenience of the family in Bellona Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the Presbyterian Church in Geneva, 24 Park Place Geneva, NY 14456, or the Ontario County Human Society; Happy Tails Animal Shelter 2976 County Road 48 Canandaigua, NY 14424. Agnes was born on Sept. 5, 1917, in Geneva and was the daughter of the late Newton and Jennie (Oughterson) Barden. She was a graduate of the Freeman Business School. Agnes worked as an administrative assistant for NYSEG in Geneva. She was a devoted member of the Presbyterian Church in Geneva, where she served as a soloist in the choir. She is survived by her daughter, Mary (Ron Salisbury) of Marietta, OH; step-daughter, Judy Hayes of Seneca Falls; nieces, Susan (John) Steepy of Penfield, Carol (Jean) Piquemal of Brussels, Belgium; Jennifer (Stuart) Wattles of Clay, NY, Wendy Cohen of Seattle, WA, Leslie Piquemal of Brussels, Belgium, Kathleen (Gregory) Manley of Arnold, MD and Theresa (David) Eberhart of St. Charles, IL; nephew, Bill Barden of Dacula, GA; grandchildren, Michael and Mandy Offenberger, Chris and Tim Hayes; great-grandchildren, Lexi Hayes, Michaela and Ava, Paislee and Brentley; great-nephew, Jeremy T. (Darline) Wattles; sister-in-law, Marge Barden of Annapolis, MD; great, great nieces and nephews, Julian S. Lucas A. and Esme M. Wattles, Lilliana and Liora Cohen. Agnes was predeceased by her husband, Arthur W. Hoefler and step-daughter, Sharon; friends, Bernadine and Karl Staurowsky.
