GENEVA- Clarence Le Roy Staples, 75, passed away peacefully, at home on Thurs. (June 23, 2022), with his wife by his side. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no prior calling hours. A celebration of life will be held at Stanley Fire House on Sunday, July 31, 2022 from 2-6 pm. Contributions may be directed to Ontario-Yates Hospice, 756 Pre-Emption Rd. Geneva, NY 14456. Clarence was born on April 2, 1947 in Penn Yan and was the son of Archie R. Staples, Jr. and Mildred Ida Dalrymple-Staples-Perry. Clarence was a strong and honest man who loved a party and being around his friends, many times taking a challenge at games of skill. He was a member of the congregation at the Geneva First United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife Debra Stevens-Staples; former spouse, Carol Ousterhout; four daughters, Tammy Conklin, Melissa Mitchell, Shawna (David) Hackett and Leanne Staples; son, Kenneth; two sisters, GraceAnn (Richard) Edington and Susan Stinson; brother, Stephen Staples; six grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Clarence was predeceased by two sisters, Elva (Ronald) Schillinger and Ronita (James) Wiles.
